Consider a group effort this summer to help us with our Christmas in Summer campaign, so we can send a lot of messages of love and support in time for year end. By then, it will be nearly four years that Ukrainians have been defending their homes, their land, their freedom.
Your card doesn’t have to be Christmas themed. We welcome festive holiday greetings from all faiths. And keep in mind, not all Defenders practice a faith. Here are some samples from previous years –
Any card that carries a message of joy, a bit of light and hope, words of support, is especially welcome at year end. This will be a time when Defenders, of all faiths, or of none, will be especially missing their families and the comforts of home.
Feel free to create a homemade ‘post’card using the front image of last year’s Christmas cards! 😉 Or, work with your children or grandchildren to create festive craft cards.
Maybe you’ll be able to write some Christmas / festive year end greetings when you have a bit of relaxing time this summer? Avoid the rush.
If you can get your festive season postcard messages to us by mid-October, we will be able to get them to the front lines before year end.

Inspired by US veteran Marcus’ 200 cards campaign, of which she was the winner, Brigitte from Quebec, who we told you about in our February 2025 newsletter, has issued her own challenge. Each postcard warrior that writes 50 postcards to Defenders for our Christmas in Summer campaign will receive an envelope of assorted postcards, to do as they like (maybe write more cards to Defenders?).
This contest runs all through July, August and September. Winners will be announced mid-October.
