Where Poppies Bloom

You might be interested to know about a free Remembrance book that we learned about from DROKACADEMY, just released: “Where Poppies Bloom: Canadians Who Gave Their Lives for Ukraine”.

Where Poppies Bloom tells the stories of nineteen Canadians who died protecting Ukraine: where they came from, what they cared about, and how we can remember them. Their names belong in our Remembrance, beside every Canadian who served so that others could live in peace.

The book also says thank you: to the members of the Canadian Armed Forces who trained Ukrainian soldiers through Operation UNIFIER, to those who were wounded, to the families who carry the loss, and to every Canadian who stands with Ukraine in Ukraine, cooking, caring and volunteering.

You can read and download the book for free. It’s available now in English and in Ukrainian. The French edition, Là où fleurissent les coquelicots, is being reviewed and will follow soon.

Share widely. Educators might especially find it relevant for their upcoming Remembrance Day activities in schools across Canada.

Thank you DROKACADEMY for sharing this timely Remembrance book!
