MANY THANKS to all postcard warriors for your beautiful cards and heartfelt messages of support! Your generous care helps Tamara at home branch in Ukraine fulfill requests for thousands of postcards.
Did you know … ? Nearly 40,000 postcards have been sent from around the world to front line Defenders of Ukraine via Canada branch (14,000+] and Australia branch [24,000+].
THANKS to ALL of YOU AWESOME POSTCARD WARRIORS!!!

Michelle H. and her colleagues in the British Columbia General Employees Union (bcgeu) wrote postcards in Saanichton, BC while picketing. Michelle and her colleagues view postcard-writing to Ukraine’s Defenders as “solidarity across borders … not just for fair wages but for dignity, survival, and global solidarity. Inflation has made it nearly impossible to live in the province we serve, and we’re demanding better. As part of our action, we’re writing postcards to soldiers on the front lines in Ukraine because front line workers everywhere deserve support, recognition, and hope. From British Columbia to Kyiv, we stand together!”

Kudos to the russian embassy protesters (rep) who rally every day in front of the Russian Embassy in Ottawa, raise funds for supplies needed at the front lines, educate Canadians about Ukraine, and more. Over the last 17 months or so, the rep’ers and friends have met monthly after one of their daily protests: more than 700 postcards to Defenders, and counting! Most have been their unique original designs. Way to go rep’ers! A brigade of warriors with caring and generous hearts and wildly humorous imaginations!

Whenever we see an image of a postcard at the front lines as one sent that traveled from Canada branch, we share it with the writer – if we recognize who the writer is. Here’s a response from the rep’ers on Facebook after we shared this image of one of their postcards in a box of supplies: “Wow, one of our postcards is in there! That’s a photo of us in front of the ruzzian embassy with a Canadian politician (Charlie Angus). All political parties support Ukraine here. No debate.”

Kudos to Marta B. in Toronto for organizing a postcard writing event at St. Volodymyr Institute SVI! They wrote about 100 homemade Christmas cards, including some written by children. MOST of the messages were written entirely in Ukrainian. Front line Defenders will certainly have felt a lot of love, care and hope in their home language. Thank you Marta and SVI postcard warriors for your love and support of Defenders of Ukraine!
Thank you to our friends at Blank Canvas in Millbrook [Canada branch home base] whose clients and customers have been buying our fundraising Millbrook postcards as well as writing holiday messages to Defenders. Awesome!

Finally, … do you see the card leaning against the back flap of the box? That’s one of a couple hundred that Heidi, from Colorado, USA, has written to Defenders; including Christmas cards. Thank you, Heidi, for your colourful and caring messages of support!

Your cards do make a difference as Danylo tells us from the front lines
Nothing warms the soldiers’ heart as a handwritten letter.
