We see a lot of beautiful handmade cards at Postcards to the Front. So much thoughtfulness, care and love. If you want to try your hand at some Ukrainian, here’s one postcard maker’s way of inserting Слава Україні! / Slava Ukraini! in their embroidered designs (SC).
Some pretty postcard examples from a skilled postcard writer and maker in Singapore (SC).
What does Slava Ukraini! mean? Glory to Ukraine!
This phrase symbolizes Ukrainian sovereignty and resistance to foreign aggression. When the phrase is called out, Ukrainians will respond with героям слава! / “Heroiam slava!” / Glory to the heroes.
It has gained popularity since a rally protesting Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, where a protester’s sign was photographed in New York City on February 27, 2022.
