The Canadian Tank Museum in Oshawa, Ontario will open its doors on August 28th for a unique and poignant installation, and collaboration with Postcards to the Front, “Tridents & Tanks: Ukraine’s Struggle for Freedom”. This exhibit informs on the origins, combat actions, and humanitarian consequences of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, along with Canada’s support as a committed ally to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Meet Ukrainian-Crimean artist Ruslan Kurt and learn about his installation, “Doors of War“, also featured in a documentary of the same title. Hear the story of mother and daughter who fled Ukraine to shelter in Canada. Write a postcard to a Defender of Ukraine. Observe military equipment in action, as well as an overview of de-mining techniques used in Ukraine. Odesa Ukrainian dancers will perform.
Exhibition runs August 28 – September 11, 2025. Opening Reception, August 28 @ 5:30pm. Refreshments. Postcards for Defenders.

Consider a group effort this summer to help us with our Christmas in Summer campaign (ending September 30), so we can send a lot of messages of love and support in time for Christmas. By then, it will be nearly four years that Ukrainians have been defending their homes, their land, their freedom.
And they don’t have to be ‘just’ Christmas cards. We welcome festive holiday greetings from all faiths. And keep in mind, not all Defenders practice a faith. Any card that carries a message of joy, a bit of light and hope, words of support, is especially welcome at year end. This will be a time when Defenders, of all faiths, or of none, will be especially missing their families and the comforts of home.
If you can get your festive season postcard messages to us by mid-October, they will arrive in plenty of time to arrive at the front lines before year end.
Please … share and subscribe!

Remember – Your cards do make a difference, as Danylo tells us from the front lines –
Nothing warms the soldiers’ heart as a handwritten letter.
And, as Nadia in Zaporizhzhia region, Ukraine reminds us –
Postcard support gives strength and courage.
