It was a very hot humid mid-week day, no air conditioning, but they came to write postcards to Ukraine’s Defenders.

Once again, we were invited by our local library to host a postcard writing workshop as part of our Christmas in Summer campaign. Here we introduced, fresh from the presses of our supporter Coba Studios, the Christmas/holiday postcards featuring the art of local artists S. Knight and EArt. Grateful for the terrific turnout, despite the heat! Many heartfelt messages of support for Ukraine’s Defenders, written with love and warmth, in summer’s heat … are sure to warm hearts and souls at the front lines at Christmas time. Thank you all!

You can see this young 5-year-old man has channeled his message to Defenders that he wanted to write to “because they have hearts in their hands”. A lotta love from Canada to Ukraine!

Consider a group effort this summer to help us with our Christmas in Summer campaign, so we can send a lot of messages of love and support in time for Christmas. By then, it will be nearly four years that Ukrainians have been defending their homes, their land, their freedom. Check our website for tips, How to Run a Postcard-Writing Workshop.

And they don’t have to be ‘just’ Christmas cards. We welcome festive holiday greetings from all faiths. Keep in mind, not all Defenders practice a faith. Any card that carries a message of joy, a bit of light and hope, words of support, is especially welcome at year end. This will be a time when Defenders, of all faiths, or of none, will be especially missing their families and the comforts of home.

If you can get your festive season postcard messages to us by mid-October, they will arrive in plenty of time to arrive at the front lines before year end.
