The journey of your postcards from Canada branch and Australia branch to Ukraine can take up to 4-6 weeks. Once they arrive in Ukraine, Tamara, at home base, sorts them for distribution.

We are often asked, “Is it okay to write the same message on a bunch of cards?” and, “Is it okay to use the same card?”. Yes, to both questions. There are hundreds of brigades and hundreds of thousands of Defenders – soldiers, medics, drivers, cooks, etc. – who would welcome your postcard.

So, if you wrote, for example, ten postcards with similar messages and/or similar images, they will be spread out through ten brigades, as part of a diverse group of cards. Cards from different countries, support Ukraine cards, animals, landscapes, sunsets and beach scenes, humour, cute illustrations, touristic cards, pinups, cards with motivational messages, cards and paper crafts created by children, and so many others. It’s easy, and a joy, for Tamara to ensure that each brigade receives a variety of cards from different countries that carry a variety of messages, from a wide range of writers spanning all ages. A multicultural transglobal wide-ranging smorgasbord of love, care and support for each brigade.

Some brigades create a wall gallery of postcards. Some with image sides facing outward. Some, with the message side facing outward.

Along with supplies, your postcard messages boost morale. They perform a vital role in supporting the mental health of Defenders. It matters to them, and to their families, that the world hasn’t forgotten them, that we support them, and that we care. Thank you!
