    Local Grade 5 students participated in a workshop learning about postal systems and writing postcards to Ukrainian Defenders, Canadian troops, and local veterans. The students practiced the Cyrillic alphabet, ultimately gaining confidence and pride in their ability to communicate in Ukrainian.

    Ukraine faces ongoing drone and missile attacks, leading to widespread destruction and casualties. Messages of support uplift Defenders as the war’s third anniversary approaches on February 22nd. Cards with encouraging phrases foster morale, emphasizing solidarity and love during these difficult times.

    In our October newsletter, we highlighted the daily protests outside the Russian Embassy in Ottawa since March 4, 2022, against Russia’s aggression in Ukraine. Protesters have created postcards of support for Ukraine’s defenders, showcasing humor and irony in their efforts. Their messages will soon reach the front lines.

    The 1000 Days anniversary since the invasion of Ukraine marks a somber milestone. A thousand days filled with terror and loss. Canadians continue to show solidarity through rallies and demonstrations, such as at the Simcoe Street bridge in Oshawa, Ontario, where weekly gatherings remind passersby of their unwavering support for Ukraine.
