A lot of Christmas love traveled from Canada branch to the front lines in Ukraine: nearly 3,000 postcards, as we wrote about in Christmas campaign outcomes. Hereyou see volunteers in Ukraine packing the Xmas cards in boxes of supplies sent to Defenders at the front lines.
There were hundreds of cards from frequent postcard warriors, such as Brigitte from Quebec, Eun from New York, Heidi from Colorado, and Marcvs from Arizona.
There were also many cards from newcomers to the project. Kudos to Marta B. in Toronto for organizing a postcard writing event at St. Volodymyr Institute SVI! They wrote 100 homemade Christmas cards, including some written by children. MOST of the messages were written entirely in Ukrainian. Front line Defenders will certainly have felt some extra love, care and hope through the warmth of their home language.

Thank you to our friends at Blank Canvas in Millbrook, home base for Postcards to the Front Canada, whose clients and customers have been buying our fundraising Millbrook postcards as well as writing holiday messages to Defenders. Awesome!

Finally, … do you see the card leaning against the back flap of the box? That’s one of the cards that Heidi from Colorado has written to Defenders. Grateful for her efforts to write Ukrainian phrases!
Thank you all postcard warriors for making Christmas 2025 a little warmer at the front lines in Ukraine!

Your cards do make a difference as Danylo tells us from the front lines –
Nothing warms the soldiers’ heart as a handwritten letter.
