It’s not easy getting images from the front lines, so when we do get them we’re excited to share them with you. See? Your warm words of care and love are in the hands and hearts of Ukraine’s Defenders!
With supplies, such as netting, food, medical supplies, knitted scarves and socks, etc., your postcard messages boost morale. They perform a vital role in supporting the mental health of Defenders. It matters to them, and to their families, that the world hasn’t forgotten them. Thank you!
Last year, we wrote about cards written by Aloy and Edu, brothers in Costa Rica, who are regular writers to Ukraine’s Defenders. Their latest batch (card held by Defender in left image), was sent to the front lines via our dear friend Plathy, in the United Kingdom.
The image on the right takes us back to the February 24th Day of Action when we joined Oshawa area residents to rally for Ukraine, to sign a flag to Defenders (received in June), and to write postcards designed by the community, as seen in the two cards held above by Defenders.
Below are the Oshawa community card designs, as well as the signed flag. We Pray for Ukraine postcard was a project of the Ivan Franko Ukrainian Heritage School students, seen below on an easel, then transformed into a postcard. Note the detail images of the ribbons. Each features a personalized message written by a student to Defenders. A beautiful and meaningful project!
